NZME. Sorry for ‘attempt at humour’

NZME. has apologised for causing outrage on Twitter after what it calls a poor attempt at humour.

Dean Buchanan the Managing Director of NZME. Radio told Dan News

“Apparently this was an attempt at humour – it’s not funny and it’s not acceptable and we apologise for any offence.”

Staff of NZME. were distancing themselves from the statement.

“We don’t all think like that” one employee tweeted in response to Hilary Barry who said she was proud to be ugly and respectful of other people’s work.

Buchanan went further and personally apologised via Twitter:

Jason Gunn joins Lana Searle on More FM’s Christchurch Drive show

Jason Gunn is joining Lana Searle to co-host More FM’s Christchurch Drive show.

The Lana and Jase Drive Show will start on Tuesday 17 of June and run 4-6pm weekdays.

MediaWorks Radio Group Programme Director, Andrew Szusterman says: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Jason to the Christchurch More FM family. Lana’s Drive show is a Christchurch institution, and adding Jason into the mix will be a bonus for local listeners.

“Jason is a hugely talented broadcaster, and a passionate Cantabrian. This new line-up adds further strength to our presence in the Christchurch market.”

Jason Gunn says:

“I’ve been listening to Lana’s show for a long time and am an avid fan; long time listener, first time co-host! These are exciting and challenging times we’re all going through in Canterbury. I’m really looking forward to joining Lana and the listeners and having more than a few laughs – mainly at my own expense.

“What a great time to be back on air in my hometown with something so new and exciting.”

Lana Searle will continue to host the 2pm-4pm slot on More FM Christchurch.
