So many familiar faces in this report from the mid-90′s!

You may know her as Gabrielle Jacobs in Shortland Street, but one of the many things Virginie did before she joined the cast of New Zealand’s most popular TV show was hosting the afternoon show on Juice TV.

Over the weekend TVNZ Heartland screened a documentary called ‘Network New Zealand’ which was effectively “a day in the life” of the state broadcaster in 1985. The doco had many amazing moments and I aim to share a few of them. I’ll start with this flashback of a young Dan Parker, helping is father, Bob out on the farm:

The 7 July 2005 London bombings (often referred to as 7/7) were a series of co-ordinated suicide attacks in London which targeted civilians using the public transport system during the morning rush hour.

Fifty-two people, as well as the four bombers, were killed in the attacks, and over 700 more were injured.

Here is a video of TVNZ7′s launch in 2008.

The first show to be broadcast on the channel was “The Kingmaker’s Debate” hosted by Guyon Espiner.

The video shows countdown to launch, the beginning of the debate and highlights from the first “TVNZ News Now” bulletin which aired at 1pm.
