Travel Agency Flight Centre say they have a number of customers who will be affected by the new flight regulations set down by the United States.
The new rules affect any flights passing through or originating in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Tunisia, Lebanon and Turkey.
Sue Matson, Flight Centre NZ general manager retail said they are currently working with customers affected to ensure they are aware of the new rules and how to comply.
She said anyone with bookings made with Flight Centre can call their 24/7 helpline to discuss whether the changes will affect them.
Matson said the new regulations will pose some challenges and inconveniences for travelers.
Families traveling long haul often use electronic gaming devices and tablets as a distraction, particularly when waiting in airports before boarding planes. Likewise for passengers with special needs.
Matson also has some old school advice for travelers.
“Travelers should take other items along such as colouring in books, pens, pencils and books.
Matson said it’s also worth being prepared for delays at affected airports.
“Travelers should expect that they may experience delays in the interim while the new regulations are enforced. When flying internationally travelers should allow at least 3 hours.”
