Severe Tropical Cyclone Marcia is predicted to intensify to a Category 5 system as it crosses the Queensland coast between Mackay and Gladstone early on Friday morning with destructive winds with gusts of up to 270 km/h expected near the core of the system. – AusBOM.

The system has slowed to moving at just 10km an hour and has intensified massively to what will be a category five cyclone.

The very destructive core of severe tropical cyclone Marcia, with gusts to 295 km/h, is expected to cross the coast between Mackay and Gladstone on Friday morning.
