Dan News makes it on to Dan News

Finally Dan News has made it to Dan News.

My Christmas cards were sent out this week and it turns out they went to print with (SHOCK HORROR!) a typo!

One insider said it was due to “massive staffing cutbacks” at Dan News.

“We are being made to drink INSTANT COFFEE?! This really is the end of the world” the source said.

I could pretend that it was put in there to see who noticed it though right? …..okay maybe not.

“Merry Chirstmas” everyone!

Chris Lynch to replace Mike Yardley on ZB Christchurch

The Radio Network announced today that award winning journalist and current affairs producer Chris Lynch will replace Mike Yardley on its local Newstalk ZB morning talkback programme in 2013.

Born-and-bred in Christchurch, Lynch started his journalistic career working for Newstalk ZB’s West Coast and Auckland newsrooms and until recently was a producer on TVNZ’s Close Up programme.

“Mike’s departure leaves big shoes to fill,” says Lynch. “However I am thrilled to be given this opportunity and look forward to continuing the work Mike has done covering the significant issues facing Christchurch and representing our community.”

Radio Network Christchurch General Manager Andrew Britt says the appointment was made after an exhaustive search. “We were determined to find a host Canterbury could be proud of while also promoting an emerging talent in talk radio,” he says.

Chris Lynch will start on-air in Christchurch on Monday 14th January.
