This post is a bit of a departure from what is usually covered on this website, but I have to get it off my chest.
Tonight I saw a report on 3 News about Labour MP, Su’a William Sio speaking out against marriage equality.
He claims there are more important issue to deal with.
He also said it could cost Labour the next election.

Call me naive, but in my old fashioned head I still like to think that people are in politics to make change for the better, not to win elections.
Among the values Sio talks about on his website are peace, respect and tolerance:
Peace, Respect and Tolerance just doesn’t happen by itself. They must be pursued, nurtured, enhanced and promoted. It requires all of us collectively working to build greater understanding between churches, cultural groups and continually aiming to have peaceful and harmonious working relationships. We must remain vigilant at all times. We have to also respect the rights of one another and recognise diversity as a strength. We should stand together to protect our community against the unhealthy and harmful impact of alcohol, drugs, prostitution, gambling, scams, loan sharks, crime and violence.
How about starting to build that greater understanding then Mr Sio?
