Created by Oscar® and four-time Emmy® winner Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network), The Newsroom follows the brilliant yet volatile Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels), lead cable-news anchor at the fictional ACN Network, and his newsroom staff while looking at what it takes to “do the news well” in the fast-paced world of current events.

The news stories being covered in the broadcast are actual past news events ripped from real headlines – from the 2010 BP oil spill to Occupy Wall Street – coming together to form a smart, topical, humorous and highly entertaining drama.
