7 News wins Logie for Pike River coverage

7 News has won the Logie for Outstanding News Coverage for its coverage of the Pike River Mine disaster.

The award was accepted by Samantha Armytage at the star studded event at Melbourne’s Crown Casino last night.

Interestingly, a promo montage playing on Channel 7 this morning features a clip of a teary eyed Rachel Smalley.

The Today show’s Karl Stefanovic won Most Popular Television Presenter and the coveted Gold Logie.
