Meredith Vieira to leave Today Show


Meredith Vieira will leave NBC’s Today Show in June.

The shows newsreader Ann Curry will be promoted to co-host. Natalie Morales will take Curry’s place as newsreader.

The Today show has been at the top of the morning news ratings for the last 800 weeks and generated half a billion dollars in ad revenue last year alone.

This news comes just a week after confirmation that former Today host Katie Couric is leaving CBS Evening News.

Vieira’s reasons for leaving are understood to be personal.
