Radio Sport confirmed as Official Radio Broadcaster of Rugby World Cup
Radio Sport was today confirmed as the Official Radio Broadcaster of Rugby World Cup 2011.
Exclusive live coverage of all 48 Rugby World Cup 2011 matches will be carried by Radio Sport; with All Black matches, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the Final also broadcast on sister station Newstalk ZB.
The station will also fulfil host broadcaster responsibilities, providing commentary to overseas radio stations and www.rugbyworldcup.com.
“We are delighted that we’ve been able to secure Radio Sport as Radio Host Broadcaster for Rugby World Cup 2011,” said Rugby World Cup Limited Managing Director Mike Miller.
“They will bring their unique sound, style and passion for live sport to a Tournament that is firmly established as one of the world’s premier sports events.”

Radio Sport is New Zealand’s leading sport radio station, broadcasting in 20 markets across the country.
Rugby World Cup 2011 kicks-off on September 9 with matches being played across 13 venues in New Zealand. 85,000 fans are expected to visit the country during the six week festival which culminates in the Final at Eden Park, Auckland on October 23.
