New Zealand’s Next Top Model is back

In 2009 for the first time ever the Top Model phenomenon hit New Zealand screens. The response to the show was overwhelming, and now – it’s time to do it all again! New Zealand’s Next Top Model returns with a brand new series on Friday, August 6th at 7:30pm on 3.

Once more, after an exhaustive nationwide search, 33 finalists have been invited to casting week, to participate in a rigorous screening process which will see 13 girls selected to move to Auckland.

Shooting in mid-winter… it seems only logical to choose New Zealand’s number one winter destination as the backdrop for the process. So New Zealand’s Next Top Model is off to Wellington with 33 hopeful young women, all with one goal in mind… to follow in Cycle One Winner Christobelle’s steps, and become New Zealand’s Next Top Model.

“Since winning the competition, Christobelle has had a dream year,” says Sara Tetro, the show’s host. “It’s what every girl aspires to when she enters the competition. Agents in Sydney, New York and London have carefully worked around her schooling, she’s shot with some of New Zealand’s best photographers and she’s been on assignments overseas.

“This year the calibre of the girls at the auditions, their enthusiasm and their desire to be involved has been extraordinary… we couldn’t have hoped for better.”

Joining Sara for Cycle Two are last year’s judges, photographer Chris Sisarich, and international fashion model Colin Mathura-Jeffree. They’ll be joined by a special guest judge each week, drawn from all areas of the fashion and modelling industry.

Once again the girls will attend a variety of tutorials and partake in a number of challenges, all designed to hone their modelling skills. Some will rise to the occasion, some will crash and burn… and each week – a stunning photo shoot will be their last chance to impress the judges and save themselves from elimination.

At the end… only one will remain… only one will be New Zealand’s Next Top Model.

New Zealand’s Next Top Model Cycle Two premieres on Friday, August 6th at 7:30pm on 3.
