Off the air: TV3 Monday night promo “run its course”

The controversial new TV3 Monday night promotion which has been labelled a “rip off” by some, has been pulled.

“After a great response to our Monday night movie promo, the campaign has run its course and won’t be going to air again.” said Mediaworks Director of Marketing and Communications, Roger Beaumont.

“Our intention with the promo was to have some fun and have viewers notice that we have something big on Monday night with our movies. We’ve certainly achieved both those goals.” he told Dan News.

Links to the video have been posted on various gaming and news websites overnight, and the star of the original Sony commercial, Kevin Butler earlier tweeted “Dear TV3: You could have at least put my photo on top of the amp.”
