Nandor Tanczos to blog for TV3’s new environment section

Outspoken ex-Green MP Nandor Tanczos joins the team of TV3 bloggers to write weekly for 3news.co.nz on environmental and ecological issues.

Tanczos, a social ecologist and Rastafarian of Hungarian and African descent, has been a businessman and a beggar, a legislator and an outlaw, and is currently a community educator, freelance writer and orator and can now add blogger for TV3’s new environment section to his repertoire.

He says: “We have to move beyond talking about turning appliances off at the wall and being more efficient. We need to radically deepen the debate about how to build a civilisation that has ecological integrity. I want to thank TV3 for providing a platform to contribute to that debate.”

General Manager – MediaWorks Interactive, Siobhan McKenna says: “Nandor has a very interesting mind, the contents of which will now be shared with the 3news.co.nz audience weekly. This will be vital reading for anyone who needs to be “disturbed” into living a more satisfying life – from someone who actually practices what he preaches. I’m looking forward to reading him.”

She adds: “The environment is potentially the biggest story of our lifetimes. It could possibly be front page news every day – but doesn’t always get the coverage it deserves. We wanted to continue the interest in the environment built up during the Copenhagen Climate Change conference and cover the story in more depth rather than leave it to fade away.”

The environment section will also carry blogs from Chief Executive of WWF New Zealand Chris Howe and the UNICEF Climate Kiwis – five young New Zealanders committed to working on the issue of climate change.
