I’m so excited! Home and Away returning soon

Nicole (Tessa James), Aden (Todd Lasance), Miles (Josh Quong Tart), Geoff (Lincoln Lewis) and all the other Summer Bay favourites are returning to our screens for another action-packed series when Home and Away premieres its 2010 season on Monday, February 1st at 5:30pm on 3.

According to series producer Cameron Welsh, Home and Away fans can expect much lighter storylines in the 2010 season. Welsh explains that the new year will bring a ‘better balance’ of drama and fun to Summer Bay.

“There is unquestionably a shift in tone for the 2010 season,” Welsh told Yahoo 7 TV.

“The storylines are, on the whole, lighter and will be more character-driven. And, yes, there will be a focus on relationships, among other themes.”

Cameron also reveals that viewers will see the dramatic climax to Summer Bay’s ongoing mystery, which started with the horrific discovery of the bodies after Hugo’ schooner was cut loose.

“We knew exactly what we wanted to do, and how to get there,” Welsh says of the ongoing mystery, adding that the storyline will gather momentum when the 2010 season begins.

“Audiences will see that when we start the 2010 season. There are clues as to what’s going on, so it’s important to tune in often.”

Aside from the upcoming revelation, Home and Away’s first week back will also address the ever present tension, sexual or otherwise, between Nicole and Aden.

“Aden and Nicole have an interesting journey, a couple who may just be perfect for each other… in another time,” Welsh explains.
