Glee is back!

Matthew Morrison’s Will Schuester Keeps busy helping the Glee Club hit the high notes on Glee, screening on Friday, January 8th at 7:30pm on 3. But off-screen, Morrison will soon be busy making beautiful music all on his own.

The former Broadway actor, who plays Glee Club mentor Will Schuester on the hit series, recently revealed that he will soon be working on his own album.

“Right now, I’ve almost finalised a record deal and am going to be working on an album,” he tells Buddy TV.

And what sort of sound does our favourite teacher envision for his debut solo release?

“It’s going to be different. I would consider it a classier Justin Timberlake album,” he reveals. “It’s going to be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats. Kind of like Timberlake meets Michael Buble.”

Of course music is nothing new to the 30-year-old star. A veteran of Broadway, Morrison’s stage credits include Footloose, The Rocky Horror Show, Hairspray, South Pacific and The Light in the Piazza, which earned him a Tony nomination in 2005 for his role as Fabrizio Nacarelli.

But despite being a success in both the theatre and television, Morrison reveals that conquering the music medium is all part of his master plan. “I want to be like the next Gene Kelly. I want to kind of do it all,” he explains.

“I want to have a career in movies, television, music and Broadway – but have them all be separate, their own entities.”

Whether the talented Gleek achieves his dream still remains to be seem, but one thing is for sure – he’s already a revered television actor on one of the most, if not most, critically and commercially successful shows of the year.

Make sure not to miss him in the continuation of this series when Glee screens on Friday, January 8th at 7:30pm on 3.
