Peter Williams, Bill McCarthy & Dougal Stevenson at 40th anniversary Network News event held on Wednesday night at TVNZ.
The four former network news presenters who returned to television to read a morning news bulletin each on Thursday attracted one of the largest Breakfast audiences this year.
435,500 viewers tuned into Breakfast to see Dougal Stevenson, Jennie Goodwin, David Beatson and Lindsay Perigo back on screen to mark the 40th anniversary of network news.
Viewers inundated the programme with hundreds of texts and emails that showed what enormous affection viewers still have for our pioneer news presenters.
