New faces proving popular among early awards voters

With the first week of voting over, the race to win the category of best reporter in the Dan News Awards could not be any closer.

One of TV3′s new faces, Laura Turner (pictured) appears to have already established a fan base with voting numbers keeping her in the top 3.  Other reporters who have proven popular so far include Jack Tame, Lisa Owen, Kate Lynch and last years winner Rachel Morton.

It’s also a close race when it comes to best male newsreader with newcomer to the news desk, Lachlan Forsyth proving very popular early on. Last years winner Peter Williams has not lost any of his popularity, not budging from a top 3 position.
