Viewers tune in for late night news after Aisling Symes development

Ratings for both networks late news were up on last month’s average after the evening’s developments in the Aisling Symes case.

TV3′s Nightline had 230,620 viewers last night up from September’s average of 172,210.

On TV One’s Tonight there was a similar jump from September’s average of 153,000 to 221,640.

TV3 crossed live to Henderson through out the evening, including breaking into regular programming to broadcast a road side press conference live.

TV One had live chopper shots during Close Up and updates from reporter Jack Tame.

    Definately TV3. Far more immediate and assertive.

    TVNZ usually (for Jack Tame =] ) although I will admit TV3 was a lot better last night.
