TVNZ congratulates veteran sports broadcaster, Geoff Bryan on his honour from the NZ Olympic Committee presented to him in Queenstown last night.
Geoff Bryan has become one of the few television broadcasters to receive the Sir Lance Cross Memorial Trophy for his contribution to the Olympic Movement.
Geoff has covered eight Olympic Games and five Commonwealth Games across three decades for TVNZ.
“He’s a very deserving recipient, Geoff is one of the most professional broadcasters in the country and someone who doesn’t seek public accolade so I’m sure he’s very humbled by this particular honour”, says TVNZ’s Head of Sport, Murray Needham.
“It is a fitting tribute to his broadcasting skills at the forefront of TVNZ’s Games coverage over so many years”
“We all congratulate Geoff on becoming one of the few television broadcasters to receive the Sir Lance Cross Memorial Trophy and endorse the comments the NZOC said about him”.
“Geoff is a consummate professional and through his commentary and interviews has brought the power and magic of the Olympic Games to millions of New Zealanders. We thank him for his commitment and generosity of spirit.” (Barry Maister, NZOC)
