News legend Walter Cronkite Dies

CBS has just announced the ‘most trusted man in America’ and the face of CBS News for decades has died.

Walter Cronkite, who was the anchor of CBS Evening News for 19 years (1962–81) is remembered by most Americans as breaking the news of the death of President Kennedy in 1963.

Cronkite’s voice is currently heard in the opening titles to CBS Evening News introducing Katie Couric.

SKY to cover 61st Primetime Emmy Awards live

SKY brings you LIVE Coverage of the 61st Primetime Emmy® Awards

The nominations for the 61st Primetime Emmy® Awards were announced today and SKY Television is thrilled to be able to bring you exclusive LIVE coverage of the event on Monday 21 September.

First up we take you LIVE at 10am to the Red Carpet on E! (SKY Digital Channel 11) where the gowns steal the show as your favourite television stars and Emmy nominees arrive for the big event.

Then from 12 noon, watch as the awards are revealed, exclusively LIVE on VIBE (SKY Digital Channel 7).

This year Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Doogie Howser, M.D) will host the event from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

“After having had such a hoot hosting the Tony’s, I was thrilled to get the call about the Primetime Emmy’s,” said Harris. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of the show – adding my own voice to it, while honouring the nominees and the entire year in television. But which voice to choose? I’m torn between gangsta, foppish Brit, and robot. Really proud of my robot. We’ll see what happens on the night.”
