To mark Maori Language Week the place names on TVNZ’s weather maps have been translated into Te Reo.

“ONE News presenters Wendy Petrie and Simon Dallow (Ngati Pukenga & Ngati Pikiao) will be incorporating a Maori greeting at the beginning of the 6 o’clock bulletin each day this week, as they’ve done in previous years.
“Viewers may also notice some of the titles and wording that appear briefly on screen will be in Maori and English this week.
“Over the last fortnight Te Karere presenter Scott Morrison has held Maori pronunciation refresher courses for our presenters and reporters, and throughout the week we will be covering news worthy stories about Te Reo and Maori Language Week”.
