‘The Strip’ returns to TV

Sky Entertainment channel Vibe will begin repeat screenings of the hit show ‘The Strip’ this May.

Follow the exploits of an ex-corporate lawyer as she tries to balance her new role as a male strip club proprietor with the demands placed on her as a mother, daughter, friend and lover.

Luanne Gordon stars as Melissa, an ultra-dedicated career woman whose life is turned upside down when her husband leaves her for his very male gym trainer. Where did it all go so wrong? Because she was so caught up in her career, she neglected not only her marriage, but also her teenaged daughter, Paige. What’s more, she seems to have forgotten how to have fun. Where’s the girl who shocked her parents with her nude debut in a high school performance of Hair? Who used to sneak out of law tutorials to get stoned? What happened to the uninhibited party animal who caused her future husband to slip a disc while making-out in the back of her Mini?

Looking for solace, Melissa heads to a “Hen Night” to track down her friend, Kathryn. There, with a male strip-o-gram doing his thing, she has an epiphany… she’s going to get out of the corporate rat race and set-up the country’s classiest male strip club! Robbie Magasiva, David Fane and Jodie Rimmer also star in this classic Kiwi dramedy.

THE STRIP on VIBE – Sundays from 3 May, 8.30pm
