AGB NMR Figures show TVNZ Ratings Win

 

Figures released by TVNZ show it is doing well in the nightly news battle.

Nationwide – ONE News vs 3 News

Each night in March, an average of 849,000 New Zealanders aged 5+ tuned in to ONE News across the hour compared to just 589,000 who tuned in to 3 News.

Close Up vs Campbell Live

Similar to ONE News, Close Up’s ratings are up strongly year on year in Auckland, and has increased its dominance over Campbell Live in Auckland among 25-54’s (now 36% higher), and 18-49’s (now 13% higher ratings).

Close Up’s nationwide March ratings remain strongly ahead of Campbell Live among 25-54’s (30% higher) and 18-49’s (12% higher).

NZI Business vs ASB Business

In March, TVNZ’s NZI Business 25-54 ratings were three times higher than TV3’s ASB Business. This is despite NZI Business’ earlier time zone and smaller potential audience. It achieved a 36% share of 25-54’s compared to 8% for TV3’s ASB Business. This dominance continues in TV3’s 18-49 target.

Year to date results – Breakfast vs Sunrise

Breakfast continues to dominate morning television viewing over Sunrise with more than 50% share of the 25-54 audience compared to the static and less than 10% share for Sunrise. Breakfast dominates Sunrise in TV3’s target market of 18-49’s as well.
